think like a woman

her grit is her grind
her motivation
gives her the lift
to overcome odds
that just seem odd
to too many men

to bash men
is to bash myself
and yet her wealth
comes in her ethics
that out muscle our genetics

the excuse to not succeed
seeds the soil of determination
as they become a nation
of able minded
battled scarred femme fatales
killers of the weak

as my day goes forward
these killers are in my midst
doctors, students, mothers
bosses, counselors
so in my answer to why aren't
men more driven
tell me the truth
I am ego proof

the world I live in
women are survivors
men are surviving
women are the hybrids
adapting to changing times.
so why again
are we falling behind?

is the solution
resolute in love
are they the true lovers
loving as a way of life
of themselves then all else
where does this truth go in me
does love motor success
or is common sense all that I need

my oxygen comes in knowing
thinking like a woman
while realizing I am a man
is all that I have to lean for
when everyday touch and feel
self emulating models aren't available
